I was searching for comparison of V&H pipes and ran across this .
Looks like Myrtle Beach is becoming a bit unfriendly.. Helmets and loud pipes appear to be big issues.
Follow the "Link" below ( or copy & paste to Browser ) for the entire article, then scroll to the individual Ordinances...click on the Ordinance number for more detail on the Ordinance passed. Don't want ANYONE surprised by the local Law Enforcement should you attend any rallies or vacation at South Carolina's beaches......Ride Safe !!

I will buy the 1st round
This is sorta old news

Yea the city is a little jacked-up, The new helmet law takes effect on Dec 21, 2008. The noise level was tested at the fall rally and out of something like 480 bikes tested only about 25% passed. they had to raise the level from 82 decibel's to 87 so there own Harley's would pass, then I think they raised it again to 89 so the city trash trucks and fire trucks would pass so now (I think) all vehicles in the city limits are being held to the 89 decibel's.. This is really too bad I have been to many over the years and every-one sense 1999. two times a year avg spending about 1500 - 2000 cash but never again.. Me and the guys I ride with will be riding the 701 miles to Panama City Beach two times a year the 1st weekend in May and the last in Sept. They advertise as the most biker friendly "Bikeweek" in the USA. Check it out at Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally in Panama City Beach, Florida - The Most Biker Friendly Free Rally in the U.S! - Home and look us up when you get to town..

This has been going on for months now. Its going to make MB Bike Week something to avoid probably.

HOWEVER, its the City of MB not the state of South Carolina that's the problem. There are plenty of beaches in SC that don't have a problem with bikes. SC is a very friendly state to bikers.

I don't know if I'd sweat the MB bike week just yet. Everyone knows that MB has 2 rallies in the spring. The first one is typically sponsored by Sony and brings a fairly decent turn out (not to mention revenue). The second one starts after most of us have gone home. It's not a sponsored event and it takes it's toll on the city (especially in terms of revenue and crime rates). If you want my opinion, it's a race thing and city is trying to eliminate a specific ethnic group from flooding their streets and businesses. I've got a buddy who's a state trooper in the area and he said statistic support the Mayors decision. Hell SC still flies the rebel flag. Seems kinda messed up, but when you lay it all out...I don't know what other avenue they could have taken without being politically incorrect. Guess we'll see the outcome in the spring. More to follow...
