Gear Oil?

Just had a new peg set put on, but am having difficulty shifting from 1st into 2nd now. The shop says I should swap out the old gear oil with new, so I bought a bottle and jumped on BDB for some how-to guidance (since I'm not that mechanically-inclined). After some searching, I can't find anything. Any suggestions and/or direction of where to find some how-to information? Gas, Raywood, KnotSo?

Stu, if your talking about Tranny oil I will tell you that Baker always recommended Redline Heavy Shockproof 75/250 but this year they changed sponsorships and now recommend Specto 75/150 or something like that. Its on the Baker website.

If you change pegs make sure that they lined up properly as the manual states in that the shift arms are pointed up 90 degrees from the shift arm.

Good luck,
Ray

I run Amsoil extreme gear oil in my tranny and I think it shifts smoother than it did when I had the redline in there. I'm with Ray though if this issue only started when you changed your pegs its likely to be something to do with that.
