Suction Back Seat

I have never had that problem and once rode a 1500 mile trip with it on at speeds up to 90 MPH plus and the sucker never even gave any indication of lifting. Always make sure that the cups and fender are clean, but I was told to keep them dry.

Interesting that you indicate problem with it dry and seems to work better for you wet. I wonder how much is due to the fender surface say, is it well waxed for example. Could have some factor on position of the seat on various models also.

Of the people that have had one fly off-how many wet the cups and how many didn't. Kinda of interested to see if there is a big difference or if basically the same and possibly some other factors involved.

I went with the two up,the suction cup dosen't sound all that safe,I know guys are gonna say different but I kinda like my wife and I'd like to keep her around for a little longer anyway. When she don't get on it I put the origonal back on.

I hardly think of it as a safety issue - but the two-up seat is certainly much more comfortable, or so says my wife. I have all three, but never use the P-pad anymore.

How do you replace a suction cup on the seat? Just looking at it, not seeing how to go about that little chore. Don't really want to replace the seat [yet]... But it IS kind of plain, doesn't match the style of the bike. Pondering.

One sticks, one does not. No sign of wear or deformation, one just does not stick.

WANTED bolt-on w/ passenger pad, but after I "left town", the dealer stuck on the stick'um pad and called it good. I dint know any better until the beast finally came to roost and I discoverd the one contrary suction cup while checking whether or not the oil had been drained for shipping.

sometimes the suction cups on the P Pad leave marks on my fender but it's nothing a little polish won't take care of.

Have it from a reliable source: It's kind of like removing studs from tires, kind of work it out with a smail straight slot screwdriver.

What I did order the clear protective 3M film that goes on the fender then put the seat on ..I just leave the seat on now and it never moves I like the look of the tall sissy bar and rear seat ..and also like having some place to strap bags and cargo and the fender will never be marked or dammaged..

When I purchased my Mastiff, I was told if the pad was off, don't put it on and ride without a passenger you will loss it. If a passenger has been sitting on it, it will be fine to ride solo with it on, and I haven't lost it yet.

I do like the fender without it, but I think it looks dumb with the gap to the sissy bar, so the sissy bar goes off if the pads off. Does this make any sense?

I had a pad on the back of my 06 chopper, until 07 Myrtle, when someone decided they needed it more! They took it while I was in a bar!

Just how do you replace the dam suction cups. They were easy in the P pad but the seat is giving me fits. Any help??

My 2up is held on by suction cups, and the lip that slides up into tank. Would like to get the 2up fixed where the single seat bolt would stick threw and I could use it too. Going to have to fine someone a round here to do that.

I finally figured out. The cups really just screws into the holes. there is a slit 180 deg apart that you start the lip of the cups stem and then you put 1/2 of the stem into place and then with a lot of force you just screw it into the seat. I only changed one as the other section cup is in great shape. I have two seats one new, which I purchased to be my backup if anything happens to the original 06 mastiff seat. Right now I am waiting for a new tank mount to arrive, I have both ordered, the rear and the front mount. Should be here this week. New paint on the scooter and want to make sure that it fits properly. Oh I did have protective coat installed on the rear fender, Wrapped it so that the suction cups would not mar my paint and for the pill seat when the wife wants to ride. Keep the suction cups completely clean or scratches will show up on your new paint...BTW I also did a 8 inch circle around the gas cap to keep my fingers (summer time) and gloves (winter time) from scratching my tank. The film is invisible and the only way you can tell is by touch. Hope this helps...
