I have read the articles on click click click and the others. I have similar problem but have check it all. I went riding and stopped somewhere. Went to leave and the bike had nothing. 3.8 volts on the battery. I went and got a new one Xtreme battery CYLA20HLBA AGM. I charged it on the tender over night. Put it in and fired right up. Turned it over again and it struggled and nothing (lights or neutral lights, dead). Battery then had 3.4 volts. Took it back and they replaced it. I came home went thru the same process with a repeat outcome. The Dog has new cables and the starter was rebuilt after the original battery took a dump 5 days ago. I am now at wits end and need some input. I have been working on bikes for many years and this thing has me baffled. Where next???? The EXPENSIVE SHOP VISIT????

Need to check your voltage regulator... when my bike did that... the VR was junk!!!

Got a manual? It tells how to check it... if not one of us may be able to type it up... or scan the page in...

when you picked up the battery, was it put on a charger, not just a tender? had the same thing happen to me with a new interstate even down to putting it on a tender. they replaced the battery with a new one and learned from the company that even though it was "factory activated", it needed to be fully charged before installation.

Maybe a dumb question but the circuit breaker from the VR hasn't tripped has it? Also have you checked your VR to see if it was one of the ones under the recall?

I have took the vr out of the equation and these are both dead w/out vr. Has anyone had good luck on rebuilt starters? This guy is second to none he has done just about everything for me in the past. Someone told me these starters don't work right rebuilt.

just had mine rebuilt. welded in new brushes and replaced the contacts. guy said it is a 2.2KW i said i thought they were 2.0KW. 100 bucks well spent.

it could be a carb issue. either your enricher is dumping fuel at start up or the float bowl is dumping fuel into the chamber after shutoff. either will bump the compression making it a hard start.

pull the plugs and ground them and i'd bet it spins easy . put in new plugs and start with no throttle pulls.

just a thought!

also i just replaced the 40 amp breaker since it wasnt showing a full 14+ charge while running. it showed it was charging about 1 volt higher but not fully.like a partial internal break. got basically the same part at autozone without the reset.
charging full now.

also use star washers at all starter circuit connections.
