Hi everyone,

Im having problems finding the right kit for my bike, is a 2003 Bulldog and the kit I recently bought is BDM150-00236 but none of the parts match the parts I took out. I spoke to the dealer and they are saying that this year bike had stock harley master cylinder. any ideas.

Thanks in advance

On my 03 the front controls were made by Thunderheart and that is who I got my extensions from, they may have made the master cyclinder also. You could give them a call. Don't know about the one on the bar either.

Guess this wasn't much help!

My rear master is a 5/8" kit and the front master is a 9/16" kit.

Basically the only parts you will need from a standard kit unless you have bigger problems will be the black rubber cup and o-ring that goes on the plastic piston. Because the original parts were not damaged, I reused most of them. Also, it would be good practice to try to flush out any old brake fluid from the lines and caliper when you are putting it all back together. I was pretty amazed at how shitty the brake fluid was with just under 6k miles.

Before you reinstall the piston assembly, make sure that the master cylinder bore is no shit spotless. Brake kleen the shit out of it and blow it out with compressed air, or your lungs, which ever works for you. It might not be a good idea to try to hone the master cylinder bore. The bore has a special burnished finish and it will be fucked up if one tries to re-finish it. If the bore is scratched, you might need a new master cylinder housing.

Mine has a metal cylinder, an oring and a rubber piece that acts as the cylinder piston, spring and an outside dust cover ring, nothing else.

There is no plastic piston looking thing? The o-ring goes on one end and the rubber cup on the other side where the spring is.
