hey I had to vent! The bikes runs good I just expected more quality. now that the warranty is expired ill just wrench like I did with the harley. after I got the fat boy I had slammed chromed and fast some punks stole it.

Just because your warranty has expired does not mean Big Dog will no longer help you out – I have an 05 Chopper and have had a few things go wrong out of warranty, cracked inner primary, leaking starter and Big Dog have stepped up and provided me with new parts that I have fitted myself with with the help of the “how to’s” and knowledgeable people on this site.

Big Dogs are awesome bikes and I love my chopper but they can be frustrating as they are not mass produced and take more upkeep than a Harley but I one thing is for sure, owning a big dog is made a hell of a lot easier by the people on this site. This site is the main reason I answered yes to the “would you buy another Big Dog” poll – I wanted to answer “yes as long as bigdogbiker.com is still around.

What a great first post!!! NOT!

As said... sounds like some of those problems are your mechanic... I suggest you read thru the tech section and how to section. Ditch that mechanic and start doing your own wrenching.

"Why pay somebody else to fuck up your bike?"
WTF Gas this wasn’t politically correct enough??

"Sounds like your mechanic is smoking crack while he works on your shit."
or
"Most Stealers don’t have the techs needed to work on a custom. They are Harley leak plugers."

You will get a lot more satisfaction wrenching yourself. Not having the hole where you Dog used to sit for weeks at a time while the Stealer is jerkin your chain is nice even if your waiting on parts at least you can polish her up!!! :2thumbs:

Oh rant away,
You obviously didn’t see mine when the input bearing on my trans went three weeks before Bike Week this year!!! Planned that vacation for a year in advance…

Got the trans back in the day before I headed up, two test drives local making adjustments. Have 3000 miles on that trans repair now and is running great! I'd have 5000 or more but work has been a mess the last three months plus the weather... Oh passed 10000 total a couple weeks ago.

I have an 05 and love it! No worries, there are quite a few experts on here that'll keep you on the road. They've always come through when I had questions or needed help.

You'll find most issues are really easy to fix. The ones that have been bigger big dog has always covered for me--even though the bike was out of warrantee.
