Braille 425cca Battery?

I ran across these two batteries and was curious if anyone ever tried to stick one in a dog. I'm was looking into the Big Boars when I ran across these.
Braile B14115 - 360cca
Braile B2015 - 425cca
The first one has the posts backwards so that may be an issue. On the second one it looks like the big auto-style posts come off. The sizes on both seem right. Having all that extra oomph for cranking my dog over when it's stubborn sure would be nice if that B2015 fits.

I agree, I dont get the issues though. The higher the CCA the lower amp draw which = less heat and effort??? BDM electronics are to fucking sensitive!!! Like a Democrat :flag:

The cheapest I've found the non-cf B2015 for is $162 shipped from HRPWorld.com. I'll call Braille later today and ask them about motorcycle usage.

I'm just about to buy a new battery but will hold off until I hear more about this one. I never heard of the Braille before I read this thread.

I have had my K9 since 2005, never took the stock battery out for other than regular maintenance on other things, it seldom sees the battery tender unless in the off season, never had an issue with starting the bike.

I am amazed at why a majority of the people here feel the need to get a battery that will start a car, and put it in their motorcycle.

Unless you have starting issues, why would you need a stronger battery? If you have starting issues, fix the issues, not get a bigger Band Aid.

I never had a issue with starting my bike either.....but when I had issues with my speedo from voltage drop....Ohmster was the one who suggested that I get a 310 cca battery....so I got a good deal on the Interstate 310 CCA battery.....haven't had any problems .... I always keep my scoot on the tender when I'm not riding...just a habit...

Putting a battery on a battery tender is not a bad idea, it definately helps keep your battery at peak charge. Replacing one's battery because the engine has trouble starting or some other related issue is wrong. I could understand the need for a beefier battery if the engine does not have compression releases, high compression, etc... Most of the engines here on this website have compression releases and close to factory compression, the stock battery should work fine as does mine after almost three years.

My reason looking for a beefier battery is that I've blown the last two I've had and am going on my 3rd battery this year. All 310cca and maintained. My 2001 Mastiff doesn't have compression releases and sometimes she just doesn't want to get over the compression stroke. Battery wiring, starter, and solenoid have all been gone through thoroughly. Going to redo the solenoid contacts in my starter one time, put a slam button on it, and a new battery. If it gives me anymore issues I'm just going to cut my losses and get rid of it.

Have you considered a larger starter 2.4KW? One that will physically fit your Mastiff? Perhaps a gear reduction starter if there is one available.

The starter I have on it now is 2.0KW. I called Braille earlier asking about using the B2015 as a battery for my bike and they stated that DD Custom Cycle among others have used the B2015 for bikes and that DD is their biggest motorcycle customer. I'm still debating on grabbing another 310cca locally for ~$90 w/ 1yr warranty. I got screwed out of my last two warranties since my battery fried while at Myrtle Beach this year. Left a dead one there and the one I bought while there is now dead.

Unless I'm missing something here I don't see any reason a higher CCA battery would cook the EHC. For one, the amperage to start the bike is not going through the EHC. Secondly, the battery is still 12 volts and that's all the EHC is going to see, and it will only draw as much current as needed, which in the case of the EHC is not much. Please correct though if I'm wrong... it's been known to happen before.

That is my sales pitch on just getting a AGM HD battery. $96 1 yr warrenty... get it about anywhere... I'm in.

I am tossed up between the Braille and Odessey batteries.

That little thing about cooking the EHC was supposed to just be a funny, because they have a tendancy to cook for just about any reason, and to add a battery with more ass behind it might help it along!
