I had the pleasure of riding a 08 ridge with the 330 last week and was very pleased with the ride. My question is how does the 05 and 06 ridge ride compared to an 08? The 08 is alittle out of my price range, plus I have seen some great deals on 05 and 06 models. Thanks in advance to all the inputs.

My 05 ride is awesome. I have a friend that has a 2005 BDM Chopper and we swapped and he was impressed. He said not mutch different at all compared to his soft tail.

My 300 tire 05 dosen't ride much different than my 2004 Ridgeback with the 250 tire. You will probably find out that the 05-06 Ridgeback handles better than the 08 with the 330 on it.

Yeah that 330 sure was alot different. It felt every groove in the road but I was still impressed how it handled with that big ass slab of meat on the rear.

I havn't ridden an 08 yet, so i'm not sure about the difference in them. But I have no problems with the ride on my 05. I rode the chopper and ridgeback before I bought one and IMHO the ridgeback was more stable. I have done a couple of 500 mile days and while you can feel it, it's not much worse than on my harley.

FYI,
Stock shocks on the 05 chopper make it a ridged unless you weigh 300lbs:down: :job:

I am hoping to find a good deal on a Ridge this winter. I will buy earlier if I find what I want, but I am in no hurry just to get one. I am just waiting for that one that really stands out! Thanks for all the helpful inputs.

re

My 05 can whip corners alot easier than the 08. The first time I test rode the 08, I really didn't get to test it's cornering ability. The next time I really tested it and it just wasn't as easy to corner as my 05.

Same here. When I rode it being new to choppers I pretty much rode it straight up the road and straight back. The only turns were slow to turn around and to turn into the parking lot. I didnt really think about the way it would corner until you said something about it. I wish I could find an 05 or 06 ridge to ridge so I could compare the two.

Hey i own a 06 Ridgeback and i have recently ridden the 08 Ridgeback and the rides are almost the same you feel more of the surface imperfections with the wider 330 than the 300. Doing a uTurn with the 330 rear tire about the same as the 300 just need a lil more push the wider front tire makes a for better cornering at speeds over 70 I have yet to ride a 05.

I love my 05 ridgeback, I lowered the air pressure around 5 - 10 PSI and it made it alot better ride. I have 12,000 miles on it in 15 months. Would give up my wife before my DOG
