How to Set Front Brake Switch Magnet

The right side curcuit board comes with a pigtail with this magnetic switch attached to it. So when installing a new curcuit board you end up changing the magnetic switch which amounts to a small barrel with wire and plug to attach to the curcuit board. It's the small harness in the bottom of this picture. Screenshot_20261017_070228_Chrome.jpg

Yes I removed the old sensor after loosing the tiny screw. I was wondering how to adjust the new sensor. Because what I saw is that the magnet is making parabolic movement. So, in a concrete moment the magnet and the sensor are passing buy near. Is that point I have to find or is some different way to adjust?

This should work for you.

On the 2007 K9, the front brake-light switch is a proximity sensor in the right-hand control, activated by a magnet in the brake lever. It’s adjusted at the sensor—not at the brake master cylinder. The sensor slides in its housing and is held by a tiny 0.050-inch Allen set screw; the target gap is roughly 1/16 inch. bigdogbiker.com1

  1. With the bike stationary, turn the ignition on and locate the small set screw below the sensor.
  2. Loosen it slightly. Move the sensor a little at a time while checking the brake light.
  3. Set it so the light is off with the lever released and comes on promptly when you squeeze the lever. Tighten the set screw gently.
  4. Test several times. If you can’t get reliable operation, or the light flickers, the sensor or lever magnet may be weak or faulty—not just out of adjustment. bigdogbiker.com1
Don’t ride until the brake light works consistently.

ALSO Ck this out.
