Hi everyone a new member here. I just picked up an 01 Vintage Sport. I want to add beach bars(Yes beach bars, I like them). The bars on there now im not sure are stock. But they have like a 3" built in riser. I want to replace with either 2" or 3" risers and beach bars. What should I beware of and watch for, other than cable length?
The pic shows that the ones on there do not particularly look like proper fit. Bolt pattern is 3.5" center to center. TIA.

You just need to find the right riser and bar configuration that you like. I never liked the integration of riser and bar because you can't adjust them. Your stock bars are integrated, so the slot for the wiring is in the riser. If you are going with separate riser and bars, make sure there is a hole on the bottom of the bar for the wiring. Most after market bars have it.

The bars im looking at are pre wired. So thank you. I appreciate your comment. Every little thing helps. I've been away from Big Dogs about 20 years.

It will depend on the width and pullback on your beach bars. You may not need the pre wiring. If your stock wiring is long enough, you may just need to pull the wiring through. That will save a bunch of splicing.
