I use S&S air cleaners, Some Harley round Screamin Eagle air cleaners with wide elements, that also breathe through the front, and finally Horse Power Inc. air cleaners.

Mr. Sachs. Not to hijack this thread. What do you think about the S&S tear drop air cleaner with the air slots???Think they are called "slasher".

If the slots let more air get to the filter element, it's a win win. I use the teardrop with slots, and the S&S wide element kit on my Road King.

Nice! Very susceptible to the rain however, like the spike. I have the spike on one & the BigDog solid with the teardrop filter on the other. I just try not to ride in the rain. View attachment 84898View attachment 84899

Hey both look great but can you tell a difference in performance from one to the other? I also have a spike and always wondered if it was getting choked.

Yes the spike will reduce airflow. I got rid of my spike and got the dual induction breather and much better performance. A few guys run the spike with it pointed up instead of forward and they say it works much better in that configuration.

I have a DM spike on the Chopper with zero issues. Pointed up like Mick says. It had a spike when I bought it but that one was crap. Horrible design and bad airflow. Threw that one in the garage sale. It was a chinese knock off.

I have the S&S dual flow on mine. Have run the spike in the past. Like the look of the spike but the performance is better on the dual. Try not to ride in the rain. Got caught in a hell of a storm but the spike was fine. No issues.
