So, like a lot of us, the rubber on my pegs has come off. And I've been looking for a solution. Because new pegs cost Over $300. I finally found one that I like. This is rubber Couplings In the plumbing section at Home Depot. You have to use one inch. And you need two of them for each peg. I took pegs apart. Pictures will show what I did. And with some dishwasher soap, I was able to push one on without too much difficulty. I actually used a fair amount on the peg. I'm going to use less on the next one I don't think I need that much. Then I slid the second one on as far as it would go, and Justice trimmed it with a razor knife. And you can see the results in the picture. Also, when I took the pegs apart. There was a pin. That was like a guide. That, I didn't realize, came in and out apparently pretty easily, and fell out at one point. I'm actually surprised I recognized it was gone. So I took a large paper clip. Put one down in there. And clipped it so it would fit in the hole on the top cover. And I ended up, I believe, putting 4. Little clippings in there and I could maneuver it around and get the pop on just to hold it in place. While tightening it and it seemed to work fine. So, when you take it apart, be careful with that little pin sticking up. Maybe take it out and set it to the side. If you have any questions let me know. Done forget some blue Loctite on bolt when you put it back together. So, from now on this will be known as Bruce's fantastic peg repair - that is unless someone has already come up with this idea then just forget everything, I said. By the way, the repair was easy. It only cost $13.89 - I found something better than the little paper clips I cut up. I found this pin; it fit the hole perfect and it just cut pieces to the size I needed. here pictures on pegs on bike. plus, the free clamps you get, and I found my other pin after I cleaned up good day. I installed second set on other peg with no dish soap; I did wet with water and was much harder going on but it did go on.
