Time for a new rear tire I think

As far as removing the belt Chris and Chacha on the Bulldog, there is no reason to disconnect the swing arm from what I see to take it off. Only need to remove the exhaust bracket. It runs outside of the swing arm. The Bulldog must be different from the choppers. Here is a pic of mine and Phoenix I don't know if all the pro streets are like this though.
How much do the belts run anyway?

Also learned another lesson today. I took off the pulley, brake rotor and hubs to get the tire broke down which turned out to be unnecessary. The local Harley shop machine can change out the tire without removing anything. Could off pulled the rim off complete and took it to them. They need the hubs mounted anyway if I was to balance it but I use dyna beads. All they need to know is which way the rim turns.
I can at least clean the rim up until the new tire comes in and I know what makes the rear end and how it comes apart anyway now.

Well then Neil... change the damn belt... all you'll have to pull is the pass peg and exhaust mount.

I kinda was wondering about that... but couldn't tell form the first pics if it went thru like mine. But not doing so makes the job SOOOO much easier! All the choppers are like mine LSD & RSD. I will have Big Houses bulldog at my house sunday and will look at what you got...

I wonder if its a 300mm thing... how is the K9 ran I wonder

just a little point that might be worth a mention although too late for this job - I don't touch my adjuster screws when I take my back wheel off - once you get the axle out of the way there is plenty of room to push the wheel forward to get it off. You then just put the wheel back on and its in the exact same place as it was before.

Thanks Lee for pointing that out to me.
When I followed the manual it stated to,
Remove the axle covers
Remove the axle adjuster set screws and loosen the axle adjusters
Remove the drive belt from the pulley
Remove the axle and wheel

When I removed the adjusters and pushed the when all the way forward in the slots, I was still unable to get the belt off. I tried to start moving it off to the side and rotate the tire to see if it would run off to no avail. Only after I removed the axle and was able to push the tire up some more could I get the belt off.

I checked T-macks mastiff and you have to remove its swingarm to do the belt. House's bulldog is just like Neils...

The tire Eastern Performance sent me was the old tread pattern and not the new one..
I don't want to be down another week waiting on a tire so I may go ahead and mount it and go with a Metzer next time on both wheels as Chacha suggest. It shouldn't last long anyway....

Damn Neil, what's causing your tires to wear so fast? Guess I missed this thread while I was in Sturgis.

I got 19,000 and 22,000 on my first and second. 500 on my third (blow out in Daytona)! And now have over 15,000 on my fourth.
Something is wrong with your scoot if you are only getting 9000 miles from three tires. Unless of course you are causing it with your throttle! :D

On my 03 Mastiff I didn't get as good a mileage on the Metzlers but not a reason not to try them.

Good luck,
Ray

Going on my third rear tire with 9100 miles now. First one had a plug in it and was changed at 3500. This lasted a little longer. I ordered a AVON COBRA R 300/35R-18 REAR TIRE FAT CUSTOM AV72 on Ebay for 239.95.

I thought it was spinning a little when it rained the other day..Go figure...
I havent figured out were the tire wear marks are yet:lol:

On a side note, it seems to be a little bit more worn on the left side of center as well. This must be contributed to the fact that the majority of the watering holes I visit are on the left side of the road. Left turn Clyde..

Second one BDM changed out, the one with the plug in it for my bike being in the shop so long for some other issues...:whoop:
Last one I bought at $240 and they sent the wrong pattern to me..

I have 9000 miles on my tire, and it looks like it needs changing now. I have a ridgeback and they say inflate to 25 lbs for a better ride, but I stay between 30 and 35 lbs. Any thoughts? I don't do burnouts!
