S&S 113 Oil coming out of Carb breather

I have a 21-year-old custom with an S&S 113 motor. For the first time, it started spitting oil out of the carb on a ride yesterday. Motor runs strong. Changed the oil fairly recently - on the 4th ride after the oil change, I don't think it is the oil level. Ordered a compression testing tool - check for warn rings. Thinking more old breather hoses/setup/debris. Apprecaite any thoughts where to look. Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 8.51.55 AM.png

Have a vent on your crankcase?

Thank you, John. I will try this - much appreciated.
I believe your oil pump has a check valve. It may be stuck and letting more oil than normal into the crankcase when sitting idle. This would probably push some out the head breathers until it warmed and cycled back to the tank. If you have a vent on the crankcase I think you would probably see some blow-by there too. Johns suggestion of venting heads to a catch can is the complete fix. But why did it just suddenly start is still a question that needs to be answered. I like your idea of compression test on the rings to start for sure. Keep us posted!

Thanks much. I am also wondering if the umbrella valves are no longer pliable due to age and not seating, allowing oil to pass by.

Will report back. Just joined today, seeking feedback - greatly appreciated!

I hate to admit it, but I think it was a matter of too much oil. I used my oil extractor to remove the old oil when I recently changed it out, and I filled the Exile Oilbag I have (3-4 quarts) to the recommended amount. I did not measure how much oil I extracted, and I may have left some in the saddle bag. I have removed .5 of a quart and have not had the issue since. I also have not ridden as much as I would like to. I hope to go on a long cruise this weekend, and if the issue persists, I will report back.

Thanks for checking in. Great community.

Best,
Brad
