AIH beat'em to the punch with '08 web update

Looks to me like the "redesigned" AIH Texas Chopper for 2008 is a real close "imitation" of the K9.

I think I'll stay with Big Dog. I never did trust AIH - management or bikes - and their '08 line-up just solidifies my thoughts about them! :loony:

They did beat Big Dog in updated their website with the '08 models at least, for what that's worth...:job:

I'm not a big fan of their bikes either, but I have to say I think that Slammer looks pretty wicked.

they are having rear tire problems with that new Classic Chop. When I was a the dealer the other day they had pulled all of theirs off the floor. The sales guy told me that they where unstable at high speeds, so they where in the back changing the 200 size tire to something else. Sounded kinda fishy to me.

That's a cool looking bike and it does look like the K-9. I'm glad they finally got rid of that long skinny tank.

But, rumors still exsist that they are in Bankruptcy. Hope they make it cause it keeps the prices down on our bikes.

My favorite was always the Legend until they put the chopper tank on it. But just like the BD Chopper it has gone by the wayside!!!!!

Later,
Ray

I liked it too, until I saw one up close and personal - somehow it looked a lot better in the mags - and they are pricey - over $40k, with monochrome paint (in California).

Yeah, that's kind of like a stripper on stage. Somehow they always seem to look better on stage. Oh yeah, and they are pricey to:lol:

No but seriously, I have never seen one of those Slammers in person, but I am sure I would share your opinion on it if I did. I have seen some of their other bikes in person, and was not impressed.

They probably got the rake and trail too far out.

When I was at that international bike show at the Rock Financial building in Novi,MI. last Jan. I sat on a couple AIH Choppers....it seemed like you had to reach for the bars.....wasn't digging that....I think Big Dog is more fit to finish...:2thumbs:

AIH is not a publicly traded company.
Time will only tell if they file bankruptcy, as the media will have no inclination to look into this rumor.

The tire problem hasn't been with just this new model. They have been having tire wear problems with their Texas Chopper for some time. I have three guys I ride with down here in FLA that have had wear problems on multiple tires.

But, yea, that bike "copies" the K9 almost to a T.
Thay must have seen something good there!
