Anyone have one of these Kenny Boyce framed bikes I’m new to the big dog world, just wondering if anyone knows any common issues,is there a service manual online or for sale anywhere? Right now I’m dealing with trying to find a replacement starter but I found the bike for 3k rode fine after buying it I choked the bike and it died and the starter gave out and wouldn’t engage so it’s a bit more of a project than I’d like but here we are.

Hello and welcome from Southwestern Virginia Highlands. I have no experience with that model. I'm sure someone will get you the help you need. Good luck with the bike.

Welcome to the Dog Pound. You can most likely get a starter for that at JP Cycles. They aren’t cheap. You could also try rebuilding the starter you have. Where in Melbourne are you located?

Man oh man was this job a bitch and a half I had to cut off the two bolts on the back of the tank
Yeah that’s tight quarters. Oil tank & lines right in the way for sure. Git ‘er Done! I do have the ‘94/‘04 Service Manual. If there is anything particular you need information on lmk and I’ll see what I can find for you.

Any instructions in getting the tank back in I think my starter has a clearance issue with the random softail starter
Can you post a picture. Where is the clearance issue? With the line connections? Should have plenty of clearance between them…

I got it then yeah my issue. I don’t know if it was because it’s a softail starter and the bike needs an FXR or what but I got it all together. Got run and grab a hardware kit real quick for the battery and then I should be good to fire it up. See what happens.

Clearance issues was the bottom of the pan and the top of the starter, the. I put the positive starter cable on improperly and had to loosen it 1/8 of a turn with my hand jammed under the oil tank and the top of the starter motor. Looking forward to doing the carbs and getting to rip this thing.
