My steering only goes one way. I can turn left but the bitch won't go right.

Any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I will be ripping into this bitch this weekend. Please execuse my laughter for I am literally going insane. I guess my bike has been possessed by the gremlins.

Sul - That's what I kind of figured. I see on the back of the neck that there is a hole, I'm guessing where a set screw should be.

I just might be able to get more than 15 miles put on the bike after i fix that problem.

Oscar, I'm pulling my front end to replace races and bearings and the little lock screw in the bottom of the neck is just that. When you pull it back together as Dogvet says set it to break at 2". He posted it on here somewhere.

When I pulled my front forks off I
1. Removed the cables and brake lines,
2. backed out the set screw on the lower trees.
3. loosened the lower tree pinch bolts.I left the top tree tight
4. remove the lower shaft cap .
5. lubed the forks to slide the lower tree down easy about ten inches or so
6. A buddy helped lift the entire fork assembly out of the top of the neck

It was way easier and faster than disassembling the whole thing.

You might find the problem by just sliding the lower tree down to inspect the steering stop.

Make sure you support the bike properly before taking anything apart.

Oscar, it sounds like your internal fork stop which is located on the bottom tree. You need to drop the lower tree and you'll see it sitting there. Al put a post up a while back with the picture of the stop.

Thanks Gas.

Question - What does that set screw actually hold that is in the neck?

I haven't gotten to it yet and what would be the best way to approach this task?
