A little help...I just tried pulling up WILDSTEEDWORX.COM to order some throttle Cables for my K9 and the site wouldn't pull up. Is Curtis still in business?

Great...I'll call them tomorrow. I REALLY appreciate you guys. While I'm here...I replaced my Pressure Relief Valves about 6 months ago and had to order the special 2-piece Socket. I don't offer much experience to the Forum so I thought I could at least share the tool. If you come across any post where someone else is changing their's out, let them know that I will let them borrow the Socket set. Save them $200 on their job. Anyway, appreciate the help.

So, I ordered the throttle and idle cables from the link on Curtis site and began installing them today. I removed the old cables and thought I would compare lengths... they were off (Photos Attached). I noticed the new cables were about the exact same length (Maybe 1/8 difference). Also, the cable lengths were not the same. My question is whether the new ones will work.

Also, notice where the cable fitting will mount on the Carburetor bracket. When you compare where it bottoms out to where the new cable will bottom out there is a big difference (Probably 1 inch)

It looks like you had harley cv cables on your bike, and Curtis sent you S&S butterfly cables, which is usually what is on a big dog. Take a picture of the cable guide on the carb. If it is tall, they are definitely cv cables. If that is the case, then you will have to buy the short cable guide for S&S cables.

Does Harley still have the type that I have now? Else, when I contact S & S do I simply ask for Short Cable Guide, or more information required?
Yep, they are definitely cv cables. Here is what you need. You can get it from just about any motorcycle parts store or ebay.
You can get another set of cv cables, but you have to know the exact lengths. You might have to have them custom made by Barnett. At this point, I would probably just get the short cable guide. It would be a lot simpler.

Thank you so much for your help. I also want to compliment you on your knowledge of these bikes...excellent! Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without the help I get from this AWESOME forum.

As it turns out I didn't need Cables after all. Corrosion had built up on the handlebars under the throttle grip. It would stick completely andas I'd twist the throttle I could hear a grinding sound. I thought it was strands of the cable coming loose.

I don't know how old my cables are and since I've got it apart I'm going to replace them anyway. Thanks again.

On a side note, remember the spring goes on the closing cable. Some guys get that confused. Also, if your old cables are still in good shape, you can sell them to any K9 owner that is considered switching to a mikuni. They use cv cables only.
