I have a 2004 Chopper with open primary. I just bought the bike and I had to put the new clutch disks and primary back together when I got it home. I just got it all assembled and adjusted. My first ride went great. I went for another ride today and things were going great again. I stopped at a friends house and hung out for a bit. When I left the clutch slipped real bad. I could barley give it any throttle or it would slip terrible. I limped it home. What should I look for when I start to work on it? Any info would be great.

Did you use locktite and what toque lbs did you use?

Obviously something went wrong with the disc replacement. Your best bet would be to pull it all apart again and re-install. You will probably figure out what went wrong along the way. Good Luck

You may be right. I’d also check the stack height of your clutch pack and steel plates. What kind of open primary? Mine was a Karata. Disc or coil springs on the open Primary? Mine had coil springs…if incorrectly adjusted, it’ll slip. Check for foreign materials worked between plate (doubtful)?
