WTF???

I'm confused. So Big Dog riders frown up on Harley riders and Harley riders frown up on Big Dog riders (or choppers in general) but why?? I guess I just don't understand the difference. Both are USA. I own a 2012 HD Street Glide and a 2007 K9. I have to say this...with my Harley, I go into ANY HD store and buy "an" accessory for it and guess what.........made in TIAWAN or CHINA.....REALLY????????? That pisses me off to no end. HD builds nice rides but when I accessorize it, it better be the good stuff. The HD guys tell me that the BDM is higher than ours, but I also tell them it's USA. Maybe that's my personalized tags for the bikes, Harley gets "Jap" and the Dog wears "USA".......

Hmmm....Maybe I'm not confused after all :flag::flag::flag::flag:

Funny..... As long as it has two wheels and one is enjoying the snot out of riding it, who cares? I often have fun with the HD guys when I ride my Goldwing though. Telling them the fact that my Goldwing have more American made parts than any HD built after 1976 gets them going. When they realize I am right, I get a lot of weird looks. The art is to care less and enjoying your ride just the way you want it ! Tonight I felt like going fast so I took the Ducati to a biker night.....

I don't hate Harley riders and ride with many of them. If they want to hate me, it doesn't bother or seem to affect me. I don't really care what bike a person rides. One group I ride with have Ducati, BMW, Kawasaki, Honda, Triumph, and depending on what I feel like riding it could be Triumph or Big Dog.

It does seem like the Harley riders tend to apologize for their substandard bike. Maybe, it is because most of the parts are made in China! I just say they have a very nice bike so let's go riding.

I have been to a Harley dealer to get fork seals for a BSA and a local bearing supply warehouse for wheel bearings and no body seemed to care. Measure and match it and it is done so I move on.:D

I haven't seen the "hate" between the two brands that some are seeing. I guess it could be the neighborhoods that we travel.

Perhaps the reason some people "hate" Harleys is because a lot of Harley riders seem to have a chip on their shoulder about their bikes...why, I don't know. They're nice bikes but no nicer than a lot of other rides out there. Personally, I have no problem with them as they have some very nice bikes even though the Japs are the only ones that made a bike that was big enough to feel comfortable for me...until I sat on my Dog :) It's a damn shame, too, because I've always wanted a Harley but feel like a monkey fucking a football when I sit on one. My Suzuki M109 and C109 were both much bigger, more powerful and very dependable. Bottom line, I'll ride with anyone and will always love the sound of the Harleys...second only to the Big Dogs

If someone hates Harley's and their riders they must ride alone!
I have both and frankly don't give a shit what you ride, my concern is how you ride and can usually tell with in ten minutes if I'm gonna ride with you again. :D

My middle brother got killed on a motorcycle when he was 20 yrs old. Someone pulled out in front of him. I didn't ride for 20 yrs. When my mother passed away, I went to buy a bike and I grew up with some hard core Harley guys, they all said go with a Big Dog, they are fast and look cool. Some people are just "Haters" Fuck them. :whoop:

"feel like a monkey fucking a football " got any pictures:)

Made in the USA
To my best recallection, when I was talking to a BDM rep 4-5 years ago I was told that Bigdog had approximately 78% USA made components in the bike and a Harley had approximately 62% USA made components.

I though that was an interesting comparison.

No problem here with our HD dominated riding group. I haven't had any first hand trash talk where I go but I know I'd rather be on my Bigdog than any other.

don't make any difference to me. around here, we even have a woman ridin' a HD with training wheels. don't care for can-ams any cause the take up the whole damn lane and if they're runnin' slow, it screws up the whole line.

Looking forward to retirement
I ride my 2003 BD Chopper to many HOG functions and HOG meetings! The chapter cashes my yearly due's check right along with the other members. Couple of members have spoken up reminding me that this is an HD event, others tell me to ride the BD, they love the growl the 107S&S with the Martin Brother's Madusas make! Who really cares, I ride both my Ultra & my Chopper. Best of both worlds!

This is a subject that has bothered me for quite some time. I have been riding all my life. I have had a number of scoots... my last two were Yamaha's. The last one being a Yamaha 1100 Classic. Loved that bike. But, when I would ride anywhere or pull into a tavern, I would get HD riders give me a ration a crap... telling me my bike shouldn't be parked on the same lot as theirs or that I really need to move that rice burner.... used to piss me off. I've always been of the ilk that ..as long as you are on two wheels.. I'll ride with ya... Now I have a Big Dog and I still get crap from Harley riders. I think it's bullshit..this better than thou attitude... Some of my buddies won't ride a lot of places with me believing harley riders will damage their bikes or start a fight with them.... It's just a load of crap...HD riders like that need to pull their heads out. :)

Note: Not ALL HD riders are like this... but, I have run into a large amount of them...

No dislike here for anyone that rides as long as they don't cop an attitude. I have been on two wheels for 47 years and will be until I die. .

I'll ride with anybody,, makes me no differnce at all. I haven't seen much attitude towards the dog except from the HD dealers around here. My daughter and son in law both ride HD's with a club and ride a lot. I have like an open invitation to ride with any of them anytime. They always invite me to ride on any kind of big rides and we all get along. It is kinda funny to me that the only other person that my son in law will let ride his street glide is me. He rode the ridgeback a little ways down Nathez Trace once.
Lets all ride, have fun, and try to get along. There is too much other crap we are dealing with everyday to be whining - bitching about who makes to two wheels we are riding. We can't help it if the chopper gets more attention, get over it or get one! A guy on a vespa ( scooter , scooter) give me the finger when I spoke to him as I passed him,,made me laugh.

Patriot Guard Doesn't Care What You Ride!!

I ride with the Patriot Guard and we don't care what you ride as long as you "stand tall and proud for our heroes". Considering politics today, I'd say we all need to stick together as "riders" and remember the "iron" that got us to be the greatest country in history!!! I'll watch your back!
