WTF Front Brake Reservoir leaking...

Hello all!! I just got back from deployment and got the dog out cruising again a couple of weeks ago...now for some reason my front fluid reservoir is leaking from the small weep hole and through the metal mated surface for the reservoir cap. I opened up the reservoir a couple of days ago and drained a small amount of fluid out and also cleaned up the rubber piece inside...the mated surface seems to have stopped leaking and then the weep hole began leaking. I bought it brand new (09 Mastiff) about a year ago now and have been deployed for 6 months so she was basically "winterized". None of the fittings are leaking and the front brake still works great. Any help or suggestions on what is going on or what to do would be appreciated, thanks all and take easy!

I wish I had more money.
Is the weep hole in the lid? I would guess that if it's in the lid you need a new rubber.

Yes, it is in the lid...that is what I am thinking as well but figured I would hit up the community just to see if I am missing anything stupid. Thanks for any ideas!!

last summer i added some fluid to my front thinking it was a little low from normal wear of the pads. wrong thing to do. for the last few months, i have been taking a little out at a time and the leaking is slowly going away. every week or so, i open up the res. and stick a piece of paper towel in and let it soak up a little fluid and then put the lid back on, clean up the mess, and then go ride to see if it is still leaking. it has almost stopped.

My brake master and clutch master on my K-9 both leaked from the vent hole then when I had the cap off I pulled in the clutch and notice the level didn't change so I remove fluid from both and no more leaking.

I had it for about 6 months before I deployed and never had the issue...odd to start leaking after owning it a year?

I am with you on that. I bled out both brakes just to put in new fluid. It looked low to me so I put in some extra. Took about three rides for me to get it right. I did the same just kept taking a little out with a paper towel until it stopped. All good now.
