Recently picked up a pristine inspection cover after over a yr looking for a new one. Does any one have a spare gasket, sale or free, for me? I appreciate any and all help.

Hope this helps,

Mick, can you give me an idea on cost? I saw one on Ebay for $4.99,but the s/h was $6.99. Ridiculous for a small, light gasket, imo!

My apologies to you. I received a PM on the same day from a forum member requesting info on an inspection cover and I must have made the mistake of assuming it was from you.

As for pricing, I do discount to forum members ALL items that I sell. With that said, I do standardize my shipping as well based on the $ amount spent. I, along with most companies do this for a couple of reasons. It helps with efficiency to utilize for example USPS Priority, same boxes to stock, pricing is consistant, etc. The other reason is that it helps to balance things out. There are times that Priority can't be used because of size of item. In that instance, if I ship it one state over it is much cheaper for me than if it goes 5 states over. The amount of time and effort to figure out the exact cost to ship every item could easily exceed any profit a business is making in some instances. So by standardizing, it balances out. Sometimes we make a little more because of the shipping, sometimes we make a little less.

Not trying to be shitty or condescending by any means. Its just that as consumers, we have used the internet to aquire the best pricing on items for ourselves over the past 20 years or so but it has drastically changed the market place. There has to be some allowance for a business to make some profit or that business goes away.

The long and short of it is
$5 for the gasket and $6.95 for shipping.

Trying not to cut Mick out of any business but why don't you go to Auto Zone / Advanced Auto, buy some gasket paper, lay the cover on the paper, trace around it with a razor blade, punch the holes where they're needed. Hole punch is perfect if you have one, you can make about 10-15 gaskets with one roll of gasket paper too easy, cost would end up being about .50 - .75 each

I,actually, have to unfortunately apologize to all other forum members to my outlash at a single member. He entered my thread and provided zero positive influence and only had a ridicule to enter! Thus you have my feedback on that. I DO NOT,however apologize for what I threw on him!!!
