Windvests?

I still have my Windvest from my 03 Mastiff, guess I should put it on eBay! I thought they were the same except the BDM had "Big Dog" stamped on the front cross brace!

I am pretty sure they are the same one with BDM on it and the other without and the Windvest has different and/or better mounting system. Not sure you would see a difference

Well I don't think you have a Windvest. I know of no fork mounted BD shield! All of them I know mount on the bars. The new model BD's have a clamp that mounts at the base of the bars on top of the triple tree. And as far as I know you get either the 14" or 16" although they came out with a mini one for the Chopper models at 10".
When you say you bought the shield from BD did you mean from a BD Dealer? If you could post a pic that may help.

The BD which is made by Windvest mounts between the top tree and the bars. I have one on the Bulldog and it's good for most of the bugs.

I got a Bigdog 14X14 windscreen like this but has Bigdog label instead of windvest, it mounts to the bottom of the handle bars, it's mounted on my 2003 Bulldog, I like it but that's just my opinion

it helps a little to deflect some wind and rain off your chest, easy to detatch if I wanted....

Gents;

I've had both the OEM (BDM) and the WindVest. WindVest does the build for BDM, but they do sell their own version to bar mount to the dog. I do not like the OEM mount, so I've changed to the Windvest model. It comes off with two bolts.

If anyone out there is holding onto a w/s that will fit an 04 Chopper, and your looking to part with it.. give me a shout..

Yea, yea, I know, a choppers not supposed to have a w/s but it sure would be nice for longer rides.

I've thought about it for the long hauls, only thought Cutter had one so I've been toughin' it out. Maybe I'll trial it out on Gas's bike before I buy one.

Windvest works great on my K9, I have a broken neck and can't take wind pushing back on my head.

I have an 02' ProSport as well. If anyone has a w/s that would fit mine they are looking to part with, let me know. I would go aftermarket or OEM. The degree of difficulty on the mount/dismount is not a big factor for me.
