Im having trouble finding the horn. I sound like an idiot i know... but im trying to learn.
I went for a ride yesterday and noticed the horn wasnt working. It has been before, but its one of those things you ( or at least I :rolleyes: ) am not used to checking. Now im trying to track down the problem. What steps do i need to take? I figured Id ask instead of going on a wild goose chase. All batt. connections looked good, but im getting ready to go check again now that its cooled off.
Thanks.

Brian;

Yours should be similar. First off, the horns are made in FRANCE so they SUCK!. Replace it with something nice like a sibel (check on Ebay). The OEM horn is the black disk with two wires going into it. It goes in the place where the picture has the open hole in the cross-piece (I tore mine out and replaced it and moved it to the air dam)

If you loosen the bolt on the back of the horn... it helps the horn's sound greatly. Or at least its amplitude

ok, so i took a look. tore off the top down to the EHC and it said if anything was shorted or blown it would be red, nothing was. were they supposed to be lit up yellow, mine were yellow but not lit up. anyway, followed the wire for the horn but it loses me. the wire bundle runs here

down to here on right side in front of tire

then down along the frame to here

the only thing i see that could be it that has a wire to it is this

is this it and if so do i just use a little tester light on the wire?

I see Big Dog Choppers on eBay all the time for $18k - 20k. I told my brother if he gets one to buy used and save a ton of money.

This is your Voltage Regulator

This is your oil pressure sending unit. It is what will tell you in your dash (the little oil drop) if you loose oil pressure in the motor.

I simply don't know where they put the horns prior to the fake oil bag sides... on the 2004 and prevoius
