Hey guys, I have a question. I serviced my 08 k9 last year :flag:and put the cover over it for winter. Today I just couldnt take it anymore so I uncovered it and checked the oil, there was no oil on the dipstick or at the bottom of the filler neck. I just need to know if this is a normal thing or should I not crank it till I figure out where it went to. need some help B4 dark thanks Mike

It may be in the crankcase (sumped) or if not Opec may have snuck in there and snacked it :D

i'd crank it with the filler off and see for oil to flow in the tank.

or you could raise the rear wheel, pull the plugs, put it into 5th and spin the wheel to rotate the motor.

if you do start it you should take it for a run for 20 minutes or so after warm up to burn off any condensation that built up while down.

Mike,
Pull the crank case plug and see if it's all in the case. Should only be about 1/2 quart max. but sometimes they leak bye and fill up the crank case if there is a bad check valve or a slight leak in the crank case breather line or valve.
If so drain it into a clean container and then reinstall plug and if oil is clean, no water or trash, then refill and start.:2thumbs:
If not, hopefully you just forgot to refill it.

dead
