Where can I have a gas tank made? ('04 Ridgeback)

My 2004 Ridgeback has been on the lift for four years straight. I just got it running. A base gasket blew, frozen swingarm adj screw, electrial problems... etc...

I had a baby boy, and I work 6 months of the year at sea (US Merchant Marine) and I finally got the old girl running yesterday.

During the re-assembly moving the bike from gargage to garage, I lost the fuel tank. I put an order in with my local BD dealer FOR A YEAR (Yes 365 Days) and got nothing. I even called some BD dealers around the country to see if they had one in stock by any chance. Yup, checked Ebay too. So I found this old air accumaltor from my ship cut it in half and put some hoses on it. It's now my gas tank, but it looks like something that Mad Max would roll out on, and doesn't hold much fuel.

So does anyone know where IN THE COUNTRY I can have a fuel tank fabricated to fit the current frame set up? I can stick weld, but can't roll sheet metal like a pro.

Thanks.

P.S. I'm leaving for sea soon, so If I don't answer you, it's not that I'm ignoring you, it's that I'm in the middle of the ocean without internet. :flag:

I know that I saw mention of the original manufacturer of our gas tanks on a thread on this forum, I even went to their website and found the gas tanks for sale since I was considering getting one to cut open and enlarge its capacity like Raywood did on his bike. But I can't seem to find it with the search, hopefully someone will chime in with the website.

My Bigdog dealer here in St. Louis called Gateway Bigdog custom made my tank for my 05 Ridgeback. Let me know if you need any additional info.

I believe the name of the tanks are Fat Bob Flat Side tanks. Do a google and check those out. They make a stretched tank in both single and duel tank models. Not sure if they are an exact match but may be easier to modify that in place of starting from scratch.

Well, Rocky has a Mastiff and I have a Pitbull, so that's probably where my line of thinking comes from. There's bound to be something out there somewhere.
