What size? Where do I get it?

Can anyone tell me what size bolt this is, or what it is called? I removed the coil to add the new pistol plug wires that I got from WSW and noticed alot of carbon. Upon further inspection I discovered that I was missing a bolt of some kind on the rear of the front cylinder. It is located to the left of the carburetor intake, on the coil side.

I could not find any mention of it in the service manual I have. Is it a common item I might find locally?

Thanks for any and all replies

On certain S@S applications with there IST ignition set ups they used a heat sensor and a Knock sensor. That is where they go. Cant remember which one went there, the knock sensor i think.. So dont worry about it

Question Two

Thanks for the quick response, I was worried if I could ride it or not. OKay, question two, there appeared to be some sort of washers that sat between the coil cover and engine where the bolt connected them. Each one (one on each side of the coil cover) pretty much disinegrated. Are these rubber or plastic and where can I get them.

Those are a fiber plastic washer and they serve as a thermal guard. Keeps the motor heat off the coil cover or so the theory goes. Check with Doug at C.A.Jones. or bigdogpartsking.

Same thing happened to me, it gave me a hell of shock!!! :( I emailed Curtis and told me not to worry about it :bang:

About the Teflon washers.... mine were also disintegrated... I just used normal washers and it is just fine. I don't believe these Teflon ones stop much heat anyways!
