I'd be concerned with WHY and HOW it fell out..
Also, remember you can't re-use Nylock nuts forever they need to be replaced after a number of times on and odd the bolt. There are those that believe if it comes off the bolt, replace it with a new one. Not a bad idea inside a closed primary were it could do serious damage at speed.

Nylok nuts are a one time use. Besides there dirt cheap why wouldn’t you replace them for peace of mind.

I was thinking wrong bolt when I read it the first time, and I generally do replace them. I have on occassion reused them when I didn't have a replacement handy. (With a note to self to replace later at earliest opportunity)

Yeah, but frequently with Fastenal you can't get just one, but these you can in zinc -- above is chrome.
Yeah drove 20 minutes each way at lunch today to go to a Fastenal. All their locations are supposedly closed to the public now. at Least here. She still looked for me and they still had to be ordered. Those arent the same ones above. Don’t they need to be flat head screw caps? Nylock nuts? I’ll have to read up and see what you guys are talking about.
thank you for the help.

I should back up a little bit I don’t even know if you have a manual for your bike ?

I posted those two last pages of the manual so you would have torque specs and which Loctite to use
Also the second page of the manual that I posted is because if it was me I’m already in there so I would adjust the chain and check the adjuster shoe and make sure it’s not worn out.

Kaptain America / Curtis at WSW has a YouTube video out there that shows how to do The chain tensioning procedure properly on a big dog / more in depth than the manual = you can’t beat experience.

I have found that the manual is not always correct and doesn’t always give you all the information you need.
