Pretty sure I will be getting the K9 near St. Louis. Mike has to get there to look at it maybe tomorrow. Just wondering how to pay for it.
Seller doesn't want to use PayPal because of the fees. I could pay the fees but they do add up to quite a bit. I can send a Bank cashiers check and wait for that to get there and hopefully get a bike back. I guess what ever method used your taking a chance but I do feel I can trust the seller.
Just wondering how anybody else has handled this problem.

Money down via paypal, and the rest in a bank certified check or cash when picking it up. The only other way I'd do it is find an escroW (not to be mistaken with escort) service and pick up the fees. I really wouldn't do it any other way. Too much money to risk imo.

I went to my credit union and had them contact the sellers bank where he was waiting. They wired the money into his account and gave me a receipt. That was awhile ago but should still be a viable option.

When I bought mine I sent a bank transfer from my account to the sellers. I felt good about the seller being honest. I talked to people that he sold to before. They all gave him a thumbs up. I talked to the seller many times asking questions and such. I guess go by your gut feeling. If your not sure then I would think of another way.

I bought mine from a dealer around SAN Diego CAL. My bank wired it to his bank. Smooth transaction !

I bought mine new from a dealer over the phone with my credit card then paid the card when the statement came that way I had no extra charges and I was protected if anything went south.

I had my bank cut a check directly to the lender of the bike. Timed the transport pick-up with check delivery so the bike was inspected and loaded when check arrived. Only downside was the seller had to wait for the lender to cut a check for the difference.

I prefer escort service, err I mean escrow.... I have used Escrow.com. Worked good for my transaction.

I would send all cash, small unmarked bills in a brown bag. Be sure to put your return address on it so if lost you will get back.
But that's just me:roll:

In Pa. you can't purchase a vehicle using a credit card, but you can get a cash advance from the card to purchase, and interest starts immediately.

what worked well for me was having a cashiers check in sellers name overnighted to the shipping agent who was delivering the bike from M.A. to I.A.,, when seller showed up at shipper ,shipper took possesion of bike, my insurance than covered bike during transport and seller got his check, i was on phone with shipper during this process to verify condition of bike as i bought it unseen.. went smoothly
