What is this???

Now I thought I was meticulous when I took my bike apart. I bagged and labeled everything, so I thought….I got the frame, swingarm, and oil tank back from the powdercoater today and was starting to assemble what I could. I found this in a bag that had the oil tank bumpers and bolts but for the life of me I don’t see where it goes or what it is. I went through the service manual and looked at all the exploded views and didn’t see it. Please help!!

Are you sure that isn't part 23 (chapter 2 page 1 in 08 manual) -- really looks like the one from the Mutt

That’s exactly what is is. Thank you. The hole spacing is spot on with the rubber bump stops. I guess I never thought there would be a steel bump stop since there is already 2 rubber bump stop. I guess if you hit hard enough to compress the rubber bump stops, then this steel one is a definite stop. I don’t remember taking it off. My memory must not be what it used to be. Lol
