What is this hole for? Lol

Hey guys, I am taking some stuff apart to do some cleaning in hard to reach areas. What is this empty hole in the front head behind the coil? Am I missing a bolt? It appears to be an empty hole that goes nowhere, so I don't think plugging it would make any difference. The rear head has one too, but the bolt is there and it's much smaller. Anybody have an idea?

I ask the same question a while back when I was cleaning my motor. Its normal I think for holding up the motor with chains or strap.

That would make sense, because it doesn't seem to serve any other purpose.
