What filter to get for a replacement?

While cleaning my 07 Bulldog EFI bike this afternoon I pulled the air cleaner cover to check the throttle-body and clean behind it.
The air cleaner needs to be replaced. What should I replace it with for now and where to get it?
Does the Harley shops have replacement filters?

Down the road I will be going with a twin filter set up when I change out the throttle-body.
Thanks in advance,
Neil

harley shops should have it. its a standard S&S filter I'm pretty sure. If you want a K&N the number is E-3226 but you should trim the tab on the left side of the backing plate. Any one else, I think I'm right.

your right narow37.....you have to grind down the tab on the 9 o clock position on the backing plate....so the filter gets a good seat!

I wouldn't count on your local HD shop to have it. Mine don't or jets for an S&S.
Any custom shop should have it though as well as our member dealers and any mail order.

That filter looks terrible! Where you been riding? At the dirt bike track? :D :whoop:

Raywood,
Would you believe it just came out of the shop for the 5K mile service.......
There is a independent shop here also that is a S&S dealer I can check with. Need to talk to them anyway about some EFI options.

There is a ton of dirt and clay in the air out where I work due to all the new industrial construction. They are cutting the ground down for the foundations and it is all in the air and the air is wet here now this time of season. I was caught in a couple pretty good downpours here last week and the roads are full of clay filled water.
The front mag wheel throws all the water off the road straight up onto the motor also. Well all over me anyway. Yes I ride year round when possible and don't whine about the rain or cold, just enjoy what I am doing. Won't leave for work on the bike if it is raining but if rains before I get off or on the way home, I can live with that.
I was thinking about running it at the dirt drags next year now that you mention it. :D

Narow37,
I will trim off the tab too. Makes good sense to me.

I rode my bike out to your area a couple years ago. Went to Little Stugis and checked out the NASCAR cafe in Nashville.
My trip was in July (had to spend a month at the Navy base outside Memphis) and I know how thick that air gets. Don't know how you stand it!
I've done my share of riding in the rain so know what you are describing. It will mess up a good finish very quick.

I would pull my owners manual and go over the 5000 mile checklist just make sure they didn't check other things they should have.

I'm also trying to ride as much as I can but to much snow, rain and most scarily ICE!!!

Later,
Ray

As the old saying goes "if you want it done right do it yourself" I don't trust anybody to work on my toys. I am twice the mechanic in most cases anyway. The dog has a warranty but my local shop can't ever get me in within a month anyway. Luckily I have needed very little attention warranty wise.

I believe it was the Drag Specialties washable filter that was molded to go around the tab on the S&S intake without cutting it off. I installed one in my buddies bike after I put the cam in. It fit perfect without cutting it off.

I bought a K&N recharging kit at the local auto parts store.
Works wonders on old dirty washable filters.

Made mine look new.

I went ahead and ordered a K&N filter yesterday for the time being. I am considering changing throttle bodies and going to a dual element here in the future.
