That trans in for a harley twin-cam if I am not mistaken. I believe ours are either the dd6 or the od6 for the evo.

04 and earlier used Baker OD6. 05 and newer have the RSD DD6

:cheers:

OD = Over-drive
DD = Direct-drive

Ray please correct me here if I'm mistaken.

The Baker that's on our bikes is Baker internals only! The case is made as a proprietary item for BDM by Jims if I remember correctly.

I don't think that the Baker case is even interchangeable with our frames w/o a little bit of modifications.

Can you be more specific Dead? Bmarchant is running an 03. How propriatary was BDM at that point?

I was thinking my 02 had a Baker case with BDM laser engraved on the cover but I could be wrong.

Sorry, but Ray would be a better one to answer that question on the '02s and '03s! :2thumbs:

I've never heard mention of Jims making the cases for later models BD's before.
What I understand is that the later model (05 and later) are complete Bakers units BUT Baker made them proprietary to BDM. In other words when I asked Baker if I could put a Baker DSSC primary cover on my BD they told me no. The bolt patterns are different same as on the drive cover on the otherside. But I think it's all Baker.

As for 03 - 04 they should just be standard Baker transmissions without the proprietary bolt patterns. I only got into BD bikes in 03 when I bought my Mastiff!

Not sure what is used prior to 03 and the fat tire craze.

Prior to 04 Baker did not manufacture the cases. My 04 is a Jims case with the Baker OD6. Nothing special about the Jim's case that makes it propietary.

My 03 may have been that way too. I don't remember to tell you the truth. That was a long time ago.
Wonder if it was like with the frames, they were building so many bikes they had to get help from other companies?
