Just made a run to the New Orleans shop to have the strut bolts switched out. I had bibs on and hung my keys like I've done a thousand times from a loop on the leg- Well on the Dog the wind caught them just right and beat the paint on the strut and fender all to shit. 40 miles and it's all F'd up. Kept checking and didn't hear a thing - felt like they were hanging OK. Only way to fix it is repaint. Ya'll be careful.

Had a tie down rachet break and let my friends 03 road king fall over and kill my rear fender and tail light. Took it back to the dealer they shipped it back to big dog and said they had all info on color who painted it type of paint and said same guy would probably paint it.Got it back exact match looks like new.Did take 3 months though. Good luck ,sorry to hear about your fender

That Sucks !

Sorry to hear that KRAUT:angry:

Two years ago I lent my new Ford F-250 Pick Up to a buddy to move a Stove from his moms house to his new apartment. He strapped it down in the bed and drove the 80 miles (one way).

When he dropped the NEW pick up off back at my house he had strapped the stove down in the bed and hooked it to the frame under the rear wheelwell.

Yep, it flapped in the breeze and rubbed the paint, primer and metal off to a beautiful CHROME luster. :bang:

Get her painted up, and ride safe.

Another one to watch out for - if you carry a bag behind the sissy bar, on the "luggage platform," watch that it doesn't sag through onto the rear fender. That one's chafed a few of us the wrong way (sorry 'bout the pun). :bang:

I had a large ding in my rear fender from a spike that went throught my tire. Recently had my dealer contact BD for an estimate on repait, get this $875 bucks for the rear fender only. Granted it's has double ghost flames but nothing to outragous. I thought the price was a little steep! :bang:
