Washing the dog

I think it is time to get the Dog groomed for the spring season. In the past I have just polished the bike , never washed it. I have been a bit nervous puttting water on the DOG. It has really got some road dirt on it from the dirty winter roads. Is there a product everyone likes to use? Also would I be doing more harm then good blowing off with air after washing? :flag:

I use Turtle wax ICE car wash soap and blow the bike dry with compressor air then wipe it down with a soft cloth.

I use a power washer to get it really clean. Use it under the seat also around the battery and that thing with the blinking lights.:roll: Does not start very good but it sure is clean

Also spray it in to the controls on the bars!

I have been using theturtle wax/wash. Easy wash with set on the bike, light rinse. Everything above the gas tank (controls ) just a cloth with glass cleaner or such, no water spray. I dry with air hose or the leaf blower just at idle then fire it up and go. I never have washed it and put it away, just felt if I rode it everyting would get the ant leftover water blown out. :loony:

He won't have the same issues. You should be in good shape with easy hose water. Keep it off the bars and away from the seat. You'll be fine. I power wash mine. It works fine.

Reason I say different is the model year. Much different animal. You can hit the motor with the power washer. Like I say keep away from the seat directly under the seat and the hand controls. You'll be glad you did.

They say to cover the hand controls in a bag but what do I know since I ride in the rain!

I cover the hand grips, tach, & the turn lights with those thin latex mechanix/hospital gloves and seal off the electronics under the seat, then wash it, never an issue. Just need to protect the circuit boards. wipe it down and ride it for an hour or so, tht always dries it out.
