I'm needing to know the warranty on chrome, the chrome struts where the rear back rest goes in the chrome is pealing on both sides. I was told when I purchase my bike it was a 6 month warranty on chrome, when I was at the dealer yesterday and needed them replaced they informed me it was only 60 days. Could anyone confirm this for me so I will know if to act a fool or not. Thanks

I have an 06 mastiff and I had a problem with my paint on the front and rear fender rusting aroung the lip. I found it only two months after buying my bike. They sent the fenders to a local paint shop, and had them fixed, because the 6 month warrenty was coming up. When BDM found out they sent it to another shop BDM void the warrenty on my bike. But to answer your question it suppost to be 6 month on paint and chrome, from what my lawyer told me. And 2 years on drivetrain. Have you got on BDM;s wed site and asked the customer service department?

yep it's 6 months on chrome but..... they've been handling every issue differently. my bike is about 16 months old and i have a brand new r wheel and pulley sitting at my dealer waiting to be installed. this will make 4 r wheels for me because of peeling:eek:. my dealer told me they know they have had some bad chrome. so if your past your 6 mo give it a try anyway, they've been very fair with me:up:.

It should be 6 months and should be in the warrenty information section of the owners manual. I would verify that it is indeed in your owners manual and if so, take the owners manual with you and go back to the dealer and ask what planet they are on to say on 60 days.

Then maybe again they just can not read. If you still get crap after confirming, give BDM customer service a call and let them help you get it resolved.

Chrome & paint are 6 months while engine, drivetrain, etc are the full 2 years. However in rare situations they can cut a deal with you and the manufacturer. My wheel chrome started peeling and they were replaced at nearly the one year mark. But in order to make that happen we negotiated that I pay the install labor, shipping, tax, etc which I felt was very good of them given that technically I was out of date.

That said, this is my 2nd K9 in 3 years and the economy was better then so I'm sure that had something to do with it as well.

I'd say at the very least if you are past the 6 month time period, offer to split the cost or something. Better that than nothing at all. Now if you're under 6 months, I'd get a hold of the sales manager of that dealership or call BD directly to have them take charge of the situation.
