Voltage regulator recall question

I just wanted to get some input if I could. I received a recall letter in the mail from BD regarding the voltage regulator. They say there should be no cost to me and if there is, to submit a complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I need to bring my bike to the dealer to have it replaced, the nearest dealer or authorized service center is over a hundred miles away from me. Any input would be appreciated.

Hey Doc, there are several theads on here on that subject. You do need to take it to the dealer just so they can be the responsible ones if indeed it is a VR problem in the end. Seems it started as a VR problem but now a CB thing so.....
But I have a lot of miles on mine and still have the same VR and CB so I guess if it was going to burn up it would have long ago.
But, I would still take it to the dealer when you get a chance and have them check you strut bolts also. It's the latest recall. More on it here also.

Happy New Year,

Yep Ray is on the money. Its a dealer only repair. Doesn't take long to do. Which dealer is closest to you from Va. Beach?
