HA HA I did it!!!! I cut them bastards in half!!! I wanted to for a while but I just got up the nerve to do it. I think that was one of the best things I have done to the dog. She's a little louder but the difference in the bottom is insane. Pulls like a bitch off the line. I think I might be able to get the front wheel off the ground............I'm going to find that damn Hyabusa tomorrow I got a surprise for his ass.......:whoop: :whoop:

It was not bad at all. I just loosened up the heat shiealds and slid them back -pulled the allen screw- Just a little wiggling and they slid right out. Pop them in the old vise and sawzall them right down the middle. Put them back-tighten everything up and TA-DA! You guys should have seen that bitchs face when I blew passed her........ I may just go lookin for that Busa after all. Or at least that fat guy on the 250 ninja...........

Just cut the baffles on my Pitbull last week, had them out for a couple of months and the bike sounded great but the bitch would backfire like crazy, it got to a point were it was imbarassing to ride, so I cut about 4 inches off the baffles and put them back in and the bike came alive, the only bad thing is too quiet,

The baffles are around 12 inches long.....I cut mine down to 4 3/4 inches....sounds alot better and is louder and deeper than the full stock baffle:whoop:

does doing this affect the jetting on the carb?

We got the V&H BR on the Heritage but it is EFI with the V&H power pack - I wouldn't mind doing this on that but I obviously can't rejet the carb because it ain't got one! Its a 2002 so don't know if it will adjust itself or not - I don't know much about EFI.

your right Chopper Dave it sounds 1000% better than the stock baffle, but the bike sounds just badass without them, my wife could here me coming down the road from a 1/2 mile away,

I would say it would effect the air/fuel mix. If your EFI was a BDM I would say it would adapt, but being the HD... IDK

I am curious about the rejetting issue too. I wouldn't mind doing it, but I hate jacking with the carb. I can do it, it just sucks.

Its not bad... do the mod... check the plugs... but I bet the first place you will notice the problem is on the highway at 75-80mph cruisin... right at the ~2750rpms where the carb goes from int to main jets... it will cough out the carb and loose power about every mile or so. Which would mean you just have to go up a notch on the int jet. Easy!!
