Driving down the road the other day and a enormous white cloud of smoke starts pouring out the front of the bike....you guessed it, voltage regulator. So I pull over in down town Ogden Utah, I am looking under the bike and some bum comes up and trys to mount my bike, so out comes the blade. Anyways long story short, I pull the main power wire out because it melts the coating off and I cut it short so it stops arcing on the frame, used the same blade. My question is, I drove it home about 15 miles and it ran fine. What happens when you dont have the regulator? Is it just running on battery power? Thanks for any input.
