Turn Signal Problem

I have researched the other turn signal problems, and mine is similar, yet different. I have an '06 K-9. When I bought the bike a year ago, the horn wouldnt work, and when I put the high beam on, it would not go to low without shutting the bike off. I got a replacement left side control (used) and that made the horn work (for about a month), but everything else was the same.
Flash forward to Sturgis last week. My left turn signal started intermittently working, and after a day of this, quit completely. Now, the horn wont work, the high beam sticks on high if I use it, and the left turn signal is inop. I replaced the left controls back to the original, thinking maybe the left signal would work again, but to no avail. I have looked for frayed wires, blown fuses, stray monkeys hanging out, and even pulled the ehc plugs, cleaned and re-plugged them. I read about a reset switch on the left side of the K-9 next the metal box. I cant find one. I am starting to think the EHC is shot. Anyone able to help me with any other suggestions (other than GFY)?

(BTW, I know it isnt the down tube stickers, I have them off :) )

Okay...was busy on another thread.

Those downtube stickers are notorious for many unexplained problems....good that you removed them.

I would start by checking the headlight bulb filiments are good, and the H4 plastic socket (melted).
Sounds like the low beam is burn't out, but could be worse.

The EHC will switch ON the HI beam if the low beam won't work. If the bike shuts off when you try to turn ON the low beam it could be possible that the H4 socket low beam contact could be touching the ground contact due to melted H4 connector. By a ceramic H4 connector and solder it in place of the plastic one regardless.

READ this thread/post for more related information. Tired of repeating myself.

The LH control circuit board may have a micro-crack in one of the signal traces or a poor wire solder joint.

The horn is operated via a fog lamp relay via the gray A29 EHC control wire.

Get yourself a wiring diagram if you don't already have one and study up on it to get an understanding of how things work.

Place new/clean dielectric grease in the EHC harness connections....search "dielectric grease". Disconnect battery first.

RESET switch? Could mean circuit breaker reset button if it's the manual resettable type.

Sweet. Thanks for the help.
Ref the headlight: It works fine on low, and switches to high just fine, but refuses to go back to low until I switch the bike off. The H4 connex looks good.
I plan on the dielectric grease tonite, just havent had a chance yet. I do appreciate the help.
One final question, if I may: Is it possible to be the EHC? I replaced the LH switch and had the same problem, so I am pretty sure that is not it. I am pretty stupid in the whole EHC thing so I wonder if that is the common thread. Thanks :)

Alright, I cleaned everything and used new dielectric grease. I rechanged the LH control switch. I traced all the wires from the switch to the EHC, and they are all good. No change to anything. With the headlight, horn and left turn signal problems, I dont know what else to do but change out the EHC...
Any other advice is appreciated.

I guess my biggest decision now is the PDM vs WP or something else...
I cant see a lot of differences between them all, other than a few $$.

The only other thing common to all is the ground. Did you check the ground wire with a Ohm meter? Possible bad connection / corrosion...

Done and done. All tested good with either switch. I bit the bullet and ordered the PDM today....hopefully in a month or so I can swap the EHC out. Anyone want a slightly malfunctioning EHC?? :)
