IF you searched this site you would have found out the WP kit is crap. Mine lasted 200 miles. The only way to get reliability is to old school wire it and be done with it as many on here found out....

1st thing the wp is not a bad setup just saying mine has lasted 2009 and have had no issues with it! Check your connections the down shift should have nothing to do with the wp system . Did u do anything else other than the wp install "like adjusting the clutch" etc???

My WP install works fine. I am not sure about EFI motors but I'm sure someone has experience on here with WP install with an EFI motor that can help. Of course, it could be it doesn't have anything to do with EFI. Sometimes you just have to find the problem!

Some people had problems with the Twisted spark-plugs.... do a search, several threads on this subject.

With EFI you need a "EFI" kit form WP to keep the battery feed to the EFI module and for the EFI light and low fuel light to work.

I have WP on my bike and have had a lot of issues, on my third module.

I agree with bill they are crap, but do not agree you have to "old school" wire it. I would recommend a THunder heart based system.

Put your original plug wires back on and see if the issue is still there. If it's not then you know the twisted wires may have caused the issue.

So when you down shift do you get kind of a clunk and the it stalls? More than likely your clutch is not adjusted correctly.

OK..... here ya go.... your stating trouble with a wp kit.... Now your stating you've installed an ESC from DOC?

I think you don't even know what you've got in there? Get your facts right: Is it an ESC or a WP?

If its an ESC, why don't you contact DOC???

Ok so it's not a wire plus! I was looking a schematics for the fuel issue. I am not familiar with the plug and play but electrical issues are usually bad or loose connections. I guarantee you the down shift issue is due to your clutch not being adjusted right.

lol, sometimes yes... but I didn't meant it to come across that way!
I have the same issue with my wife. It frustrates me and surprises me the way she perceives me despite my explanation of what I meant! It makes me just want to shut up and not say anything. The one that gets me the most is "You're mean to me"! Very disturbing because I certainly don't try to or go out of my way to be mean. Maybe, I am mean to others and don't know it. Maybe, she's bipolar. Everyone else in her family is!:(:oldbang:
