triple tree removal?

Energy One
I'm removing my triple tree to do the neck bearings. I've removed the 1 set screw in the back of the lower tree but I'm still having a hard time turning the bottom screw to remove the lower tree from the upper tree. I get about 1/2 turn and it doesn't turn any easier. Anyone else ever have this problem before? I don't want to force it yet. There doesn't appear to be another set screw. 03 chopper if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Well shit! it's amazing what a little penetrating oil and a few minutes on the PC will cure. I got it loose. Thanks anyway.

not too many problems.......

Not too many problems for what I did. Replaced all wheel bearings and one rear bearing was .015 ID too small and had one chrome disk bolt that was stuck and had to be damaged to be removed. I replaced fork seals and bushings. Also the neck bearings replacement is where I guess the set screw had made a rough spot in the tripple tree retaining bolt and made it harder to turn than it should have. Not to mention all the cleaning and polishing of anything that was removed/replaced along the way. All in all, not a bad weekend and saved some cash and learned a lot along the way as well. Now I need a few miles on the bike and recheck all fasteners and I'm good to go.
NOTE: make sure your bearings fit on axle BEFORE pressing in hub.
