Chris I don't have my service manual here to tell you but no doubt others will chime in - definitely get a manual, most of the torque specs are in there. See Nelson at WB Cycles for the manual

Chris,

Where are you at if you are using Full House? Must be somewhat close to a few others of us like Switchblade, Shredder, Chacha, Twomanybikes, Hoat and others.

I am about 30 miles from Full House and know the folks there well. Very good shop IMHO.

anyone know front rotor torque specs ?
My manual states "Brake Rotor mounting bolt torque" 50 ft lbs (torque in a star pattern). In the illistratoin is states to work up to 50 ft lbs by first torquing to 40 then proceeding to 50 using a 5 pt star pattern.

Brake caliper mounting bolts 25 ft lbs.

If you removed the wheel then;

Front axle 45 ft lbs
Front axle pinch bolts 12 ft lbs

Thats crazy how my manual says something completely different than your Ray. I can't believe there is that much difference from 04 to 05. Crazy.

Hey Ray,
I believe the torques you are referring to are the wheel hub bolt torques and not the rotor torques.:zz2cents:

Well I have REV A of the 05 manual and I'm looking at it right now on page 10-2 and it states;

"BRAKE ROTOR MOUNTING BOLT TORQUE 50 FT LBS"

"REAR PULLEY MOUNTING BOLT TORQUE 60 FT LBS"

On page 10-5 and 6 it show illustrations of the wheel assemblies and it shows all the hub bolts at 50 lbs in a 5 star pattern.

So..... thats all I know on this one.

:D

Ray & Dogvet. I noticed the same thing for my rotor bolts in my 2005 service manual. And believe me, if you're using a ratchet allen socket... it won't do 50#. It will snap before that. The allen tool not the bolt. I think its a mis-print
