I'm currently useing torque cones in my Yaffe Phantom pipes, has anyone had experience with modifying the cones to be more restrictive to create more back pressure?

I had some of these in my old pipes and I would tread carefully with that. They look very specifically designed for the job to me.

Al, I have the same set-up. No chance, guessing you are looking to get rid of the decel pop. Wont happen. I have mine minimized with lots of tuning but still is weather sensitive. Slippers and Yaffes. You are brave, gets pretty hot in the peg area in traffic.

Alicat... I thought your main goal is to get back some of your low end power loss?

Yea, Chris that would be my ultimate goal but I wouldn't mind losing some of that decel pop either!

the 2 into 2's look great but you give up the performance of the 2 into 1. IMO

Al, your shoes came up in DC. funny how those get around!
HA! at least my name got brought up as something other than being the biggest asshole! LOL! or maybe that's how it got brought up LOL!!!

What is a general consensuses on a good high performance 2 into 1?

Damn I feel like Tim the toolman Taylor, POWER MORE POWER!!!!!

On my Vintagelight I was running V&H long shots. Got tired of replacing the bolts and the bracket cracking so I took off the back half and added turnouts. I had the decel pop and lost a lot off bottom end also.

What I have done to get it back is added torque cones and welded a 3/4-1" washer to a bolt head so it looks like a kids sucker. Then I drilled a hole in the back side of the pipes about 2" in from the end. Then you can put the bolt in so the washer is inside the pipe. you can then turn it and lock it down with a nut to adjust the back pressure. Check out this link it will explain it better. Exhaust Systems

One thing I did different was to cut a slot in the end of the bolt that lines up with the washer so I can tell how much the washer is turned in the pipe, and I can turn it with a screwdriver to adjust it since I can't see it beyond my turn outs.
