Hi Guys,

Im looking at getting another bike and have found bike that's a good price. Its a 2001 Titan Phoenix.
Has anyone got one of these or knows anything about them?
Just wanting to know what sort of faults they have. its done 12,000 miles.

Thanks

The nada is only 5100. But with the economy that doesn't mean alot. I'd be scared to give much more than 4000 for it. Just in case something comes up that needs fixed. But I have heard that for the money they are a good bike.

Since this is a Big Dog forum you might want to Google Titan forum and talk to the guys who own them. Each custom made bike has it's own faults and Big Dog faults may not relate to your Titan. Good luck.

Found the following on ClubChopper forum...

these bikes are far over priced, I know the owner of this company in canada , they are located in Vauhgan Ont. I have been there and spoke with dave Lloyd, I personally would not by a t-shirt from that guy, I am privey to alot of sensitive information and without going into detail i would not recommend buying a bike from this company, especially from Dave. Ive seen and sat on the bikes and they do not impress me one bit, and they are far over priced in my opinion

I looked hard at a Titan Coyote at Sturgis 2003. Test road one, it's a really great bike! I was actually about 2-3 days before ordering the bike when I went to the HD dealer for a part for my Lowrider when I spotted the BigDog chopper I own today. Had I not needed that part, I probably would be on that Coyote! Shelton screwed one of the first bigdog franchise owners. Magic Touch Motorcycles located here in Shreveport. Jim Owens is a close friend of mine and he was furious with Shelton Coleman. So my small view of bigdog at that time was not a positive one. But, after looking at the Chopper, test riding it, I told the dealer I would be back and would he hold it for 24 hrs. I went home and did some extensive homework. I went back the next day and bought the Big dog Chopper and have been in love with it ever since! Funny how it could almost pass as a Mastiff!!

I think a lot of the shops felt they got stuck holding the bag on BDM. I don't know any specifics but can only speculate that the dealers might not have gotten the support for warranty work etc from BDM and the shops picked up the tabs because they wanted to do right by the customer to keep them coming back. At the end of the day fixing the bike up right once would keep someone coming back again. I'm sure they remembered on the next bill however

Jim's issues were back in 2001 with Big Dog. Jim knows Shelton on a personal level way before Big Dog came about. At one time he was the La Bandito president, and a high up in the national organization. But Jim just could not deal with Sheltons business practices.
