My new tire is here, but while inspecting the old a bit closer today, it's worn out all the way to the sidewall 
Old one is a Shinko. I don't remember if the old Avon did that or not.
And since I had the wheel out for the tire change, I figured I'd polish the impossible-to-reach rear wheel while I had it apart. I hate polishing billet, but if you have to do it, make it as comfortable as possible:
Wish I'd remembered to put the beer in the pose. One of these days I'm chroming that mofo..........
