Tire size

Need to replace the rear tire. Running a 250/40x18 but having clearance issues with the drive belt. Has anyone tried running a 240/40x18? It's not quite as wide and I'm thinking belt clearance would be better but I'm not sure it's large enough for the 03 Chopper rim. Thoughts?

I'm running the 240, and I know several others that are also. Unless your parked right next to a 250, you can't tell the difference.
