Hey gang,
Got a real finicky 117 in an 06 pitbull.

I ended up installing new lifters and I adjusted the push rods using valve movements instead of pulling of the primary cover and using the marks on the flywheel. Now I've set up several engines in the past that way with virtually no problem.
This one ran pretty decent until the lifters filled up. And now it's popping pretty load and is acting like the timing is way off.
I'm guessing that I gotta stick with the factory method for setting up the valves, right?

I know... stupid question. I guess I was just praying there was a magical poof kinda answer out there....

With that said, I would remove ALL the push rods, and put air in each cylinder, to determine if you did any damage. If it passes that test, get someone who has experience with a Harley/S&S V-twin, or a shop to help you. That's your magical answer.:oldwtf:
