I got my 08 K-9 in Nov. A little after I got it a noticed that the throttle when you give it gas it just says where you twist it. The throttle doesn't snap back like it should. Any Idea's? I guess I should start simple maybe it can be ajusted somehow. Just never messed with a throttle before and rather get some advise before I start tearing into it myself.

There is a throttle lock under the grip it's a screw with a spring on it try looseing it and see if that works.

On the part that has the start button and the turn signal by the grips on my throttle side. When I look on the bottom it looks like there is a screw completely missing. There is just a hole there and you can see threads. I guess that is the screw you are talking about.

There really doesn't seem to be a lot of play or loose. Do you know which one would be the return cable? I will look at it

Yeah I dont think the newer models come with the throttle lock. Its probably just an adj issue.

My 2 cents - Most of the snap back is the result of the springs located on the butterfly shaft. Make sure nothing is obstructing the return around the shaft area (near the accelerator pump - maybe a fuel or breather line).
Any of the cables pinched?

I have an 08 k-9. There is a pre-drilled hole with no bolt. Regretfully cruisemate didn't fit without additional drilling. I would check for return spring..binding in cable...or crack the handle apart and make sure cable and ferrel are attached and operating properly.

I figured out the problem... I guess that this part is called the the throttle body but where the cables would go to the carbs(but mine is EFI) there are two metal round tubes maybe fours inches high each. Don't know if the tubes are part of the throttle cables or what. Each tube piece as a little small piece of tube on the end that can pull out. Well the return one was pull pretty much all the way out and just kinda hanging on the corner. So I just put in back in were it goes and NOW THE THROTTLE SNAPS BACK. Also, I noticed that on the frame right in front of the gas tank. I believe that there is supposed to be a clamp that bolts into the frame that holds the throttle cables. That clamp is missing just a guess but there is another clamp that holder some other cables.

Anyway Thanks for all the advise!!!!!!!!!!!!
