Throttle Cable & Idle Cable

I have an 01 Big Dog Husky. I am trying to figure out the length on the throttle and idle cable. I have spoke with big dog directly and they said that they are 34 in. Tried 34 in and they were way to long. I have tried 33.5 and they were just a little to long. I have measured them from casing to casing and they measure out to 33.5 in but after trying to adjust them out there was not enough adjust in the cable to allow it to tighten up. Any idea on the length of the cables?

I just went through the same thing with my 07 K9 and I ended up with one that was slightly too long also. I took it to a bike shop and they quickly shortened it and soldered a new ball on the end. They also put a new ball on the original cable that had broke, so now I have a spare, any decent bike shop will have the stuff to fix you up.:2thumbs:

The name of the part I can't remember. But there is a metal tube on the carb end of the cable. You have to verify short or long tube. Did you hold your old one up to the new to make sure they are identical?

No. I will have to check on it and verify if there is a difference on the carb end.
